E-COATING - ThermalShield SilicaMatte+

ReHarmony E-COATING - ThermalShield SilicaMatte+ is a high-performance coating designed for exterior wall decoration and protection. Using silicone-acrylic emulsion as the primary film-forming material, it combines the superior weather resistance and hydrophobic properties of silicone resin with the flexibility and film-forming capabilities of acrylic resin.

This paint offers excellent cooling performance by reflecting sunlight, reducing surface temperatures, and improving energy efficiency. With outstanding durability, water repellency, and eco-friendly features, it is ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, delivering long-lasting protection and aesthetic appeal.

Surface Preparation Technical Requirements

  • Color: White (custom tinting available)

  • Composition: Polymer emulsion, pigments/fillers, additives, water

  • Methods: Brush, roller, or spray

  • Coverage: 5–6 m²/L (two coats)

  • Dilution: ≤15% water addition

  • Dry Film Thickness: 150–300 μm

  • Drying Time (25°C, 50% RH): 12–24 hours

  • Recoat Time (25°C, 50% RH): 4–8 hours

  • Solid Content: 40–60%

  • Shelf Life: 12–18 months

  • Primer Options:

    • Epoxy zinc-rich primer (for metal substrates)

    • Acrylic primer (for concrete/wood)

    • Rust-inhibitive primer (for ferrous metals)

Actual consumption and coverage may vary depending on application method, surface porosity/roughness, and environmental conditions.

  1. Surface Cleaning & Repair

  • Dust & Contaminant Removal: Completely remove dust, oil stains, and release agents from substrate surfaces using brooms, scrapers, or sandpaper. Oil stains must be cleaned with specialized degreasers to ensure no residue remains that could affect subsequent construction.

  • Hole & Crack Repair:

    • Fill holes and cracks on substrate surfaces with specialized putty, then sand smooth after complete drying

    • For larger cracks:

      • First cut V-shaped grooves

      • Then fill with putty or sealant

      • Ensure repairs are firmly bonded

  1. Surface Levelness Treatment

  • Levelness Inspection: Check surface levelness with a straightedge, keeping deviations within specified limits (typically 3-5mm maximum surface irregularity)

  • Irregularity Correction:

    • Sand down protruding areas with sandpaper or grinders

    • Refill depressed areas with putty

    • Ensure surface is smooth and defect-free

  1. Substrate Dryness Requirements

  • Moisture Control: Substrate moisture content should be below 10% (measurable with moisture meter). If too high, use ventilation or heat drying to avoid affecting coating adhesion.

  • New Plaster Walls: Newly plastered walls require 10-15 days curing and complete drying before latex paint application to ensure coating performance.

  1. Substrate pH Requirements

  • pH Control: Maintain substrate pH between 7-9 (neutral to weakly alkaline) to prevent excessive alkalinity from affecting coating stability and durability.

  • High pH Treatment: If pH is too high, neutralize with oxalic acid solution, then rinse thoroughly with clean water before construction after drying.

  1. Adhesion Enhancement

  • Sealer Primer Application: After substrate preparation, apply a sealer primer to enhance adhesion between substrate and latex paint. The primer also prevents moisture and alkali migration from the substrate, ensuring stable paint performance and lasting decorative effects.

  • Application Conditions & Methods:

    • Ensure substrate is level, dry, and clean before application (moisture <10%, pH 7-9)

    • Apply at temperatures between 5-35°C

    • Application methods: brushing, rolling, or spraying

    • Typically requires 2-3 coats with 2-4 hours between coats

    • Ensure even coating without misses or sags
