E-COATING - ThermalShield SilicaMatte

ReHarmony E-COATING - ThermalShield SilicaMatte is a premium coating designed for the decoration and protection of building exteriors. It is formulated with silicone-acrylic emulsion as the primary film-forming material, combining the weather resistance and hydrophobic properties of silicone resin with the flexibility and film-forming capabilities of acrylic resin.

Enhanced with pigments, fillers, and additives, it delivers excellent coverage, durability, and smooth application. With strong weather resistance, water repellency, and superior elasticity, this eco-friendly paint ensures long-lasting beauty and protection for a wide range of building exteriors.

Surface Preparation Technical Requirements

  1. Surface Cleaning & Repair

  • Dust & Contaminant Removal: Completely remove dust, oil stains, and release agents from substrate surfaces using brooms, scrapers, or sandpaper. Oil stains must be cleaned with specialized degreasers to ensure no residue remains that could affect subsequent construction.

  • Hole & Crack Repair:

    • Fill holes and cracks on substrate surfaces with specialized putty, then sand smooth after complete drying

    • For larger cracks:

      • First cut V-shaped grooves

      • Then fill with putty or sealant

      • Ensure repairs are firmly bonded

  1. Surface Levelness Treatment

  • Levelness Inspection: Check surface levelness with a straightedge, keeping deviations within specified limits (typically 3-5mm maximum surface irregularity)

  • Irregularity Correction:

    • Sand down protruding areas with sandpaper or grinders

    • Refill depressed areas with putty

    • Ensure surface is smooth and defect-free

  1. Substrate Dryness Requirements

  • Moisture Control: Substrate moisture content should be below 10% (measurable with moisture meter). If too high, use ventilation or heat drying to avoid affecting coating adhesion.

  • New Plaster Walls: Newly plastered walls require 10-15 days curing and complete drying before latex paint application to ensure coating performance.

  1. Substrate pH Requirements

  • pH Control: Maintain substrate pH between 7-9 (neutral to weakly alkaline) to prevent excessive alkalinity from affecting coating stability and durability.

  • High pH Treatment: If pH is too high, neutralize with oxalic acid solution, then rinse thoroughly with clean water before construction after drying.

  1. Adhesion Enhancement

  • Sealer Primer Application: After substrate preparation, apply a sealer primer to enhance adhesion between substrate and latex paint. The primer also prevents moisture and alkali migration from the substrate, ensuring stable paint performance and lasting decorative effects.

  • Application Conditions & Methods:

    • Ensure substrate is level, dry, and clean before application (moisture <10%, pH 7-9)

    • Apply at temperatures between 5-35°C

    • Application methods: brushing, rolling, or spraying

    • Typically requires 2-3 coats with 2-4 hours between coats

    • Ensure even coating without misses or sags
